The Best News

Good morning. What is the Best News ever? Why it is the Christ Jesus and His atoning work on the cross. It is that in Christ Jesus grace abounds. Because of this you need to make sure you have the correct news.

The Gospel is Good news, the best news as a matter of fact. Because of
this it is of utmost importance that we get both the message correct and also
keep it in the proper place. "If you get the message wrong, it is like taking bad
medicine: it can't heal you. If you put something else in the Gospel's priority of
place it is like buying a diamond engagement ring but forgetting to include the
diamond: you are left with a setting that beautifully displays nothing." - Mez
McCinnell

Because eternity matters most you must realize that the message of the Gospel
is not simply that Christ Jesus loves you or that God would like to get you out
of your current difficulties. Yes Christ Jesus does love you and yes God does
want to take care of you, but if that is all you get out of the Gospel you have
missed it. You, me, all of us are alienated from a holy God because of our sin,
because of this there is a need for a real Lord and Saviour. Rom 3:23 ~ "for all
have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," Christ Jesus came, died and rose
again so that He could take away our sins. No other message even comes close
to this.

Because people can not be saved any other way. Acts 4:12 says, "And there is
salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among
men by which we must be saved." There is salvation found in any one else, there
is no back-up plan. If you think doing some good works will save you, sorry. If you
think being a good person will save you, sorry. While doing good things and living
a good life are good things, and you should do this; it does not save you. It is only
in Christ Jesus that you will find a restored relationship with God and eternal life
with Him.

Because real people are really going to hell. I know this sounds harsh, but folks
Christ Jesus cares too much about you for me to beat around the bush. Hebrews
9:27 states, "It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment."
Sadly good people die without ever knowing Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour and
what is even sadder is these good people go to hell. Hell is a real place, an eternal
place, and a place of total separation from God. It is not a party place, it is not a
fun place, it is a place of suffering. But on the flip side God loves you so much He
gave you a get-out-of hell free card so to speak. "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." ~ Rom 5:8.

Yes if you will place your faith in Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour you will be saved.
