Good morning and welcome or welcome back. Once a month I write a newsletter for the church and each month I write a little something, an observation or a thought or maybe on a certain subject I find important. So here is what I wrote this month.
What has it been, about three weeks now since we had that wild storm come through? I say wild because there were two tornadoes and lots of hail at least in some spots. And then there was not anything to speak of in other spots. And then it was all over and the sun was shining bright again.
This reminded me that it is the same for you and me and our personal lives. Things seem to be going along good and then the storm clouds blow in and the next thing you know we are in the middle of a full blown storm. Something happens to your crops, something happens to your cattle, something happens to a child or family member... the winds are blowing, its hailing and there seems to be nothing you can do.
A person's storms are never to be made light of, I know this. But I also know there is one who can help you through the storms of life. He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm (Mark 4:39). Christ Jesus can see you through any storm if you will let Him. Sometimes He calms the storm, and sometimes He walks with you through it, but He is always right there with you always. Is it time to let go and grab hold of the nail scarred hands.
