Hello
and welcome. I have been asked, "What is it that sets the Bible apart
from every other book ever written?" Like any other book the Bible is a
collection of words put to paper, but unlike any other book it is God
breathed. What does this mean? Well, there have been lots of books
written by men far more knowledgable about this than me. But simply put
God directed the hands of the men who wrote this book.
2 Tim 3:16-17~
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching,
rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man
of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
It is not the words that make the Bible God's Holy Word, it is God. A.W. Tozer says it this way.
"For
it is not mere words that nourish the soul, but God Himself; and unless
and until the hearers find God in personal experience, they are not the
better for having heard the truth. The Bible is not an end in itself,
but a means to bring men to an intimate and satisfying knowledge of God,
that they may enter into Him, that they may delight in His presence,
may taste and know the inner sweetness of the very God Himself in the
core and center of their being, their spirit." - A.W. Tozer
