Why?

Good morning. I want to start out with a question this morning. Well maybe a few questions all looking to the same end. Why did God make man? What is our purpose? Why are we here? One hears these kinds of questions all the time.

In my reading this week in A.W. Tozer's book The Pursuit of God  I came across this. The first is a quote from the old New England Primer:
"Question: What is the chief end of man? Answer: Man's chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever."  

And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, - Revelation 11:16

Tozer writes: God wills that we should push on into His presence and live our whole life there. This is more than doctrine to be held; it is a life to be enjoyed every moment of every day.
