Christ Alive Is Our Hope

I like C.H. Spurgeon, he is always so practical in his approach to the Word. I was reading from his book SPURGEON GEMS and found this. I have changed the wording just a little to bring it into the 20th century for my mid-week post. 

God promised David that his seed would always sit upon his throne, and so if Christ Jesus died, then that covenant is broken. For Christ Jesus' reign to endure forever, He must be alive. Many see Christ Jesus either as a baby in the manger or in His mother's arms, or else as a man on a cross. That may have been true at one time but not anymore. Christ Jesus is not a baby any more and He is not dead anymore. He sits on the Throne of God, reigning and ruling; and He will be coming back a second time without sin unto salvation! The living Christ is our hope!
