Are You Looking?

Good morning and welcome. This morning I want to look once more at the writings of A.W. Tozer.
He states that "look" and "believe" are synonymous terms in the Bible. That is the "looking" and "believing" are the same thing.

As best I can figure it goes something like this, we look with our external eyes much as Israel did when wondering in the desert. But we must also choose to believe with our hearts what we are seeing is from God. We look with our external eyes expecting God to work in our lives and we look with our heart knowing God is working in our lives. "So one might conclude, faith is the gaze of a soul upon a saving God." - A.W. Tozer

Ps 34:5-6
5 They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces will never be ashamed.
6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him
And saved him out of all his troubles.

Ps 123:1-2
To You I lift up my eyes,
O You who are enthroned in the heavens!
2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master,
As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress,
So our eyes look to the LORD our God,
Until He is gracious to us.

Matt 14:19
19 Ordering the people to sit down on the grass, He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up toward heaven, He blessed the food, and breaking the loaves He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds,

When you look for the mercy of God, look straight at the God of mercy and never take your eyes off of Him believing He will show you mercy.
