Good morning and welcome to the
Panhandle. Have any of you had a hard time getting motivated to do
something you know had to be done? Today is kind of like that for me.
It's not procrastination, because I don't even feel like doing that.
You know there are just some days when
I can't seem to get motivated. I come in from the bus and all I want
to do is veg. Usually I can snap out of it, but there are days...well
not much gets done. I know this never happens to y'all.
The thing about this is it can bleed
over into my walk with Christ Jesus if I let it. I should read His
Word, but all I want to do is watch a little T.V. I should spend some
time in prayer, but as soon as I close my eyes I start falling
asleep. I guess you could say I get the spiritual doldrums. Anything
and everything gets my attention but Christ Jesus.
When I meet with other Christians at
Wednesday night prayer meeting and Sunday services the doldrums are
chased off, I feel rejuvenated, revived. I know many say they don't
need to meet with other Christians on a regular basis. Wow, how do
you maintain your walk without the encouragement of brothers and
sisters in Christ? I personally need all the encouragement I can get,
but that could just be me. But
encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called
"Today," so that none of you will be hardened by the
deceitfulness of sin. Hebrews 3:13.
So watch out for those Spiritual
Doldrums and I pray you have a blessed day.
Romans 5:8
