Sinner - Saved By Grace

Good afternoon and welcome to the Panhandle. As a part time job I drive a school bus. On my bus I have quite a diverse group. I have pre-k through 10th grade. I have Anglo and Hispanic, and boys and girls. There are noise ones and quite ones. There are ones I have to keep telling, "stay in your seat," and others who kick back and fall asleep in their seat. Are you starting to notice something here? All my kids are different, and yet they all have at least one thing in common. What is that? They all ride my bus.

Whether you live in the Panhandle, on the West Coast, in France, Brazil or where ever one thing we all have in common is that we are all sinners. Romans 3:23 - "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," Yes, I am a sinner, you are a sinner, we are all sinners, we all fall short when measured by God's yardstick.

However, in this group of sinners is another group - those who have called on Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour. This group of people are still sinners, but now they are covered by the blood of Christ and are saved from the penalty of sin - death, Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death,"

I know, you're not a bad person, or at least as bad as .... No matter what any of us do we can never be good enough to negate the penalty of sin.
6 All of us have become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
we all shrivel up like a leaf,
and like the wind our sins sweep us away. (Isaiah 64:6)

It is only by God's grace that we can be set free from the eternal death that sin brings. It is only through a personal relationship with Christ Jesus that you will be saved. Romans 6:23 - "but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

So, from one sinner to another may you experience all that God has to offer this week. And may He richly bless you and your family. And if you haven't asked Christ Jesus to become your Lord and Saviour yet, I pray you will today.
